Smooth flights, decent movie (Water for Elephants)…Aer Lingus remains high on our airline list. Arrived at the new and only somewhat improved Dublin T2 terminal…everything looks new and modern, but we missed the one bathroom before security to dump out water and the new security station is too small meaning lots of lines when trying to connect flights. Didn’t have to fight anyone for seat in the terminal, but the metal chairs were hard as a rock for napping on our 4 hour layover. Sound system can be heard from all over the terminal…again a nice feature unless you’re napping! The new duty free shopping mall and food court is nice if you can find it up a flight of escalators.
Our 1 hr. flight to Amsterdam was free in-flight entertainment thanks to the obnoxious and loud Krystal’s Hen girls sitting behind us in their matching pink shirts, white heart-shaped sunglasses and straw hats. Apparently Amsterdam is the Vegas of Europe for bachelorette parties. AMS = huge airport. Our baggage carousel shared luggage from 4 flights right after each other. Thanks Rick Steves for leading us to the train tickets window in a huge airport to make our easy connection to the hotel.
