About Kate and Joseph

Kate

Kate was born on August 25, 1981, the first and last day that she was ever early for
anything in her life! She is the daughter of Mary Cotter Kelly and Tom Kelly, both Quincy
lifers. Kate is also the granddaughter of the late Pat Cotter and A. Jaye Cotter, and Paul
and Polly Kelly, all of Quincy. A 13-year Catholic school vet, Kate graduated from St. Mary
Elementary School in 1995 and Notre Dame Academy in 1999. After high school, Kate
toured the state of Pennsylvania and graduated from Bucknell University in 2003. She
received her Master's in Education degree from Eastern Nazarene College in 2007.
Following in her mother's and grandmother’s footsteps, Kate entered the field of education.
She has been a fourth grade teacher at F.W. Parker Elementary School in North Quincy for
the past four years. In her free time, Kate enjoys spending time with the fam, going to the
gym, walking the peninsula, biking around New England, skiing at the River, road-tripping and traveling, baking, reading Jane Austen, singing and retreating with YE, Girl Scouting with Troop 4121, and above all else being a perfectionist.
