Carribean Cruise – Day 6 - February 25, 2011

Today was our second day at sea.  Started the day at the gym in an attempt to at least work off some of the calories we would eat today.  We finally decided to wear our red T-shirts for John’s 70th birthday.  He finally caught on when he saw four of us wearing them at breakfast!  We got a few family pictures of everyone in their shirts and lots of compliments.  After breakfast, we couldn’t resist an afternoon nap on the third floor deck chairs!  Unfortunately it started to rain a little so we couldn’t stay long.

This afternoon, Joe and I participated in the 5K On Deck of the Cure Walk to support the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Lots of people set out for 9 laps around the Promenade despite some rain.  Everyone got white t-shirts and pink bracelets to wear during the walk with juice and fruit at the finish line.  There were some serious walkers on board…I think we may have even got lapped!...

Grabbed burgers on the Lido deck and headed for Team Trivia with Marisa, Dave & Luke in the Crow’s Nest.  Poor showing on our part…we only scored 23 out of 45 points.  Decided to explore the 10th deck afterwards to Luke could run around in the glassed in area while everyone played ping pong around him!  I couldn’t help but find another deck chair to catch some zzzs! (That is until Joe & Luke woke me up!)

The afternoon flew right by and it was time to eat again.  Tonight was the second formal night so we got all dressed up and took some family photos.  Joe reports that dinner was good tonight from beginning to end.  He put down two orders of escargot, shrimp cocktail, salad, veal and a white chocolate chef’s hat filled with chocolate mousse!  Caught the tail end of the show and joined forces with Cathy & John for Name that Tune with Daryl in the Piano Bar.  I can honestly say I don’t think I got a single question right since all the music was way before my time. Somehow, though, our score of 6 out of 20 was good enough for 2nd place and a microphone trophy!  Thanks Joe and Cathy!  Tonight was the dessert buffet on the lido deck so we checked that out, too.  I’m not really a hug fan of cakes so we skipped most of the items on display.  It was fun to look at, though.  Tried to find some good dancing but the 60s-70s mix wasn’t really our style so off to bed we went.
