Carribean Cruise – Day 3 - February 21, 2011

Woke up to some pretty good rocking at 5am this morning.  Not sure if it is the location of our room or the seas, but you could definitely feel the boat moving!  We managed to fall back asleep for a bit, and then got up to check out the gym.  Decent Precor equipment similar to some machines at the Y.  Running on the elliptical was interesting considering the boat was still rocking  a decent amount (Joe almost fell off the treadmill), and there was not much ventilation in the gym!  Got in a solid 1hr 15min. workout.  I think we still ate far more calories at breakfast than we burned!  The breakfast buffet at the Lido cafeteria was pretty good…omelets, pancakes, French toast, sausages, bacon, fruit, bread and pastries…all the usual items.

After breakfast, we went to the Crow’s Nest to play Scrabble with Dave, Marisa & Luke.  Not sure who won in the end because our game got interrupted when we found out that I won a Jewelry Contest!  Last night they had a pair of Tanzanite earrings, necklace and ring out so you could guess the weight.  I estimated that the set weighed 13.25 carrats, and sure enough, my guess was the closest to the actual (13.4)!  My prize…a pendant that I will pick up in St. Maarten!  Lucky me!...

Following the excitement of my big win it was pretty much time to eat again.  Joe and I weren’t too hungry but we found a few things to snack on during lunch with Marisa, Dave, Luke, Cathy & John.  We spent the afternoon exploring the ship some more with Cathy, John and Luke while Dave & Marisa went to the spa.  Couldn’t find a kids’ play room so we took Luke for a walk around the Promenade Deck.  Grabbed some snacks, too, and took an afternoon nap by the Lido Pool.  It was a lazy, but relaxing afternoon!

Tonight was the first formal night so we got dressed up for dinner and took some family photos.  Lisa, you’ll be happy to know I got a chance to wear your bridesmaid dress again tonight!  Dinner was not really any fancier than usual…just lots of people dressed up little nicer than the night before.  Spent the rest of the evening at the theater for Captain's Night where we got some champagne, met the commanding officers and then got to see the all-male vocal group, Cantare. Followed up by another visit to the Crow’s Nest for some entertainment by Matt Murphy on the acoustic guitar and it was a good evening!
